Celcom Xpax’s two new Internet passes are great, but…

Celcom just started the year with two new prepaid Internet passes — one for those who prefer a weekly subscription, the other for those who prefer a monthly subscription.

Xpax users can now enjoy 48GB data with just RM38/month with 3GB hotspot data and 18GB data with 1GB hotspot data for RM12/week. Those who want more hotspot data can also opt for the add ons — RM1 for 1GB that lasts for a day or the RM3 for 5GB that is valid for three days. There are two limitations though; the new Internet passes come with speed capped at 3Mbps —including its hotspot data — and there’s no data rollover. Unlike other older Internet passes, they also don’t offer unlimited data for YouTube from 1am to 7am.

“Celcom Xpax prepaid consumers on Celcom’s 4G LTE network, can always stay connected and enjoy uninterrupted Internet quota for their unique digital needs. As Malaysians utilize about 10GB of data per month, our new prepaid internet passes offer a whopping 48GB of additional high-speed Internet for only RM38 every month, enabling consumers to access digital information and entertainment at their own convenience,” said Roy Ong, Chief Product and Innovation Officer of Celcom.

But if you’re someone who wants unlimited Internet for just a short amount of time, perhaps for sudden intense gaming sessions or Netflix bingeing, then you can go for Celcom’s three-hour Ultra Hour Pass. There’s four different Ultra Hour Pass, ranging from RM1 for an hour of unlimited Internet to RM8 for a day of unlimited Internet.

To subscribe for the new Internet passes, you can do it via Celcom Life App, go to any authorized Celcom dealers or follow the instructions after keying in the dialing *118#.
