Celcom and Maxis join hands to spearhead 5G deployment in Malaysia

Ah, there’s the classic post-MoU-signing handshake – in the viewfinder this time are Celcom’s Idham Nawawi and Maxis’ Gokhan Ogut as both parties agree to join forces in accelerating 5G deployment in the country.

To do so, Celcom and Maxis will jointly deploy 5G infrastructures in Malaysia. This will be done in certain areas while maintaining their own networks.

As we anticipate the mass rollout of the new network standard next year, we’re glad to see major telcos major telcos working together to provide a proper 5G solution for the people – unless it becomes a monopoly, which is still quote possible.  We’ll just have to wait and see.

true. their network unstable since last years problem which the system down for quite a while without notice. I guess they should collab with tm though if want to make this 5g happen

With this collaboration, i'm curious do they think that they can do 5G smoothly? I guess if you want to do this 5G, install yourself own infra, instead of still riding on others.

how to install on their own if other people still monopoly.

They can still install their own but it takes time. Rather than keep on using others. Better give tm do it all even this 5g
