Carl Pei’s tweet tells us there might be a OnePlus 5T

The past couple of weeks saw the emergence of some leaks regarding an alleged OnePlus 5T. The device is still in the initial stages of speculation, but OnePlus CEO Carl Pei’s recent tweet might or might not have given out a subtle hint of an upcoming successor by the Chinese manufacturer.

The OnePlus 5 went out of stock in major regions last week, leading to a ton of speculation that the company is making way for a new handset. Carl Pei’s tweet from two days ago as shown below indicates that there might be a new OnePlus 5T device in the pipeline.

Guess the OnePlus 5 was more popular than we thought… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Recent alleged photos of the OnePlus 5T generally show the phone with a full screen display on the front, suggesting that OnePlus has finally joined the bezel-less display bandwagon. Last year’s OnePlus 3T came with a slightly upgraded processor from the OnePlus 3, but that might not be the case for the OnePlus 5T as late 2017 flagships like the Pixel 2 series are still powered by the same Snapdragon 835 chipset.

The OnePlus 3T which was launched back in November 2016 roughly tells us the launch date for the OnePlus 5T, if it exists. What do you think?
