Vine was a video sharing platform that shut down two years back, and it was a devastating moment for all Viners. However, the co-founder Dom Hoffman finally announced that it will be rebooted as Byte — currently under closed beta.
Like Vine, Byte will be a short video sharing platform that offers vertical looped videos but as it’s still under closed beta, there are currently on a 100 users who can access Byte. In addition, it is not fully functional yet as users are still unable to upload any videos, though they’re allowed to record.
just sent out 100 byte beta invites for our first closed test, which starts tomorrow. will expand to more testers soon

According to TechCrunch, Hoffman plans to put his priority in giving the creators the right service to ensure that they are willing to try out Byte when it’s officially out. Hoffman also mentioned that he’s well aware of TikTok but Byte will not be going into the same direction.
Although TikTok already has over 500 million users, there are no doubts that many are still excited for the launch of Byte. Byte already has 81,600 followers of its Twitter account, and users are already lining up to be the next beta tester of the app.
