The BLU Vivo XL had its own good run, being an impressive device for the price consumers were paying for. Having launched at CES last year, the Vivo XL finally has a successor, a little over a year after its unveiling. The Vivo XL2 brings a couple of improvements from the original Vivo XL, enough to label the device as a refresh.
To start it all off, the Vivo XL2 still sports a sub par 720p display at 5.5-inches, like its predecessor. Underneath the hood, we begin to see slight upgrades with the phone packing a newer MediaTek MT6737T chipset, an extra gig of RAM making it 3GB, and double the internal storage at 32GB, further expandable to an extra 64GB via the micro SD card slot.
Camera wise, the Vivo XL2 features a newly improved rear shooter of 13 megapixels, claiming it to have faster autofocus and better aperture. The selfie camera also sees a bump up to a wide angle 8MP from the 5MP selfie shooter seen on the Vivo XL. The battery size remains the same at 3,150mAh and handset runs on the old Android Marshmallow instead of the current Nougat software out of the box.
Amazon is currently having a 6 hour lightning promotion at the time of writing, offering a $50 instant rebate off the BLU Vivo XL2’s original price of $149.99 (RM665.73), making it cost only $99.99 (RM443.81). The phone will likely remain as a US-exclusive on Amazon.
