BlackBerry introduces Evolve and Evolve X smartphones in India

When you thought BlackBerry is probably done with the KEY 2 this year, the company has launched two new touch screen phones together with Optiemus Infracom, the company’s licensee in India.

The Evolve X sports identical hardware internals as the KEY2, a Snapdragon 660 processor, 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Since it doesn’t come with a physical keyboard, a 5.99-inch 18:9 Full HD display is employed with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, there’s also a 12MP+13MP dual camera that does optical zoom, a 4000mAh battery, Quick Charge 3.0, and surprisingly, wireless charging.

The BlackBerry Evolve is a lower end model and comes with a Snapdragon 450 processor, supported by 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage, it has dual 13MP RGB+13MP Monochrome cameras, a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and wireless charging, which is still surprisingly decent for a low end device.

BlackBerry is expected to sell the device in late August, with the Evolve X and Evolve retailing for $510 (RM2,081) and $365 (RM1,489) respectively. While BlackBerry devices sold in Malaysia are manufactured by its licensee TCL Communications, there’s probably a slim chance that we will see these devices coming to Malaysia.
