Black Shark 2 Pro will launch with a Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset on July 30

Xiaomi has two gaming phones — Black Shark and Black Shark 2. The latter was just launched in Malaysia on April with a Snapdragon 855 chipset, and now the company plans to launch the Black Shark 2 Pro in China by the end of this month.

With only four months gap, we’re not expecting a major redesign when it comes to the Black Shark 2 Pro. However, one thing we’re definitely expecting is the for the new gaming device to equip the new Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset.

The new chipset is reported to receive improvements over AI, 5G connectivity, VR support and also gaming performance. With phones like the ROG Phone 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3 confirmed to come with the new chipset, it’s only logical that the Black Shark 2 Pro jumps on the bandwagon.

The current Black Shark 2 has up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage paired with a 4,000mAh battery so we’re expecting the Black Shark 2 Pro to either be equally good or even better. All information regarding the phone will be confirmed when it launches on July 30.
