Bike-sharing company Mobike, has arrived in Malaysia

The world’s largest smart bike-sharing company has just announced that it will be launching its dockless bike-sharing service in Shah Alam to provide a more affordable and convenient mobility solution to the residents. Mobike started their services in Thailand last month and has been growing rapidly in Singapore since March of this year.

The bikes are equipped with high-tech features that benefit both users and partner cities. All the bikes are equipped with a unique smart-lock and built-in GPS connected to the Mobike IoT network. This allows the company to track the location and monitor the health of the bikes, the data collected is also analyzed by Mobike’s Magic Cube AI platform which can help city planners and managers leverage the insight for a smarter and more optimized operations and infrastructure, something no other bike sharing company provides.

To use the service, riders will have to register with a one-time fully-refundable deposit of RM9 as a promotional rate, after the end of the promotion, the price will return back to its original price of RM99. In addition to that, they are also offering free rides through out the month of September and will charge only RM1.50 for 30 minutes after September. The Mobike app is now available for download in the Play Store and App Store with a localized Bahasa Malaysia version coming out at the end of the year.
