Benchmarks for the Snapdragon 850 surfaces on Geekbench

Qualcomm is slowly moving into the PC business and they showed us previous, that the Snapdragon 835 processor is capable of running Windows 10 on an ARM processor. However, the performance was questionable and the company said that the Snapdragon 850 processor would fix those problems.

Qualcomm has promised that the 850 will have a 30% improvement in performance when compared to the 835 processor, the benchmark result tells a different story. WinFuture sported the listing on Geekbench for a Lenovo 81JL which is said to run on the Snapdragon 850 processor and it shows a single-core score of 2263 and on multi-core, it scored 6947. When compared to the Asus NovaGo which has the 835 chip, its scores were 1802 and 6475 respectively. That is roughly a 23% improvement which is quite a letdown.

The Snapdragon 850 processor is based off the 845 processor which means that we would still need to wait and see some decent performing ARM processors that can run Windows 10. For now, we will still have to stick to either Team Red or Team Blue.
