ASUS will open pre-orders for the Zenbo robot in Taiwan on the January 1st, 2017

Back in Computex, ASUS debuted the Zenbo, a robot assistant that is able to look up recipes, set up reminds and do so much more. Now, nearly seven months after the Zenbo was first shown on stage, the robot assistant will soon be entering the Taiwanese market as ASUS has announced that the Zenbo will be available for pre-order in Taiwan from the 1st of January.

Alongside the announcement that the Zenbo robot will soon be open for pre-orders, ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih announced that developers and partners from various major industries in Taiwan have decided to partner with ASUS to extend and enrich the Zenbo experience through dedicated apps and capabilities. The National Police Agency of Taiwan is an example of such a collaboration, and they have developed an app that would allow families to contact their local police department via Zenbo’s built-in video calling feature.

ASUS will be rolling out limited quantities of the Zenbo robot for its first batch. The Zenbo robots will be available in either a 32GB variant or a 128GB variant. The 32GB Zenbo will cost NTD19,900 (RM2,771) while the 128GB Zenbo will cost NTD24,900 (RM3,467). The 128GB Zenbo will also come with a self-charging dock.
