ASUS unveils ZenPad 3 8.0 with a 2K display and Snapdragon 650 processor

Even though ASUS announced a new range of smartphones and notebooks in Computex this year, the company still isn’t giving up on tablets just yet as it has introduced the ZenPad 3 8.0, unlike its predecessor the ZenPad 3 comes with a very much improved hardware configuration, it is powered by a Snapdragon 650 Hexa-Core SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and comes in 2GB/4GB RAM or 16GB/32GB built-in memory configurations, otherwise the ZenPad 3 8.0 has a 7.9-inch IPS LED QXGA (2048×1536) display with ASUS Tru2Life+ display technology, an 8-megapixel main and 2-megapixel front camera, dual stereo DTS HD speakers, a 4650mAh battery that delivers up to 11 hours of usage, a USB Type-C port, and 4G LTE support.

This is technically the first ASUS tablet that comes with a 4:3 aspect ratio display, it measures 7.57mm thin and weighs 320g, which is considerably lightweight for a 7.9-inch tablet. Other than that, it features an adonized finish frame and a leather patterned back that feels more premium than the last generation ZenPad. The ZenPad 3 8.0 will come preloaded with ZenUI 3.0 based on Android 6.0, ASUS is set to make the local announcement of its ZenFone 3 soon so let’s hope the company could spill some news on when this great tablet will reach our shores.
