ASUS TUF Gaming A15 and A17 with new Ryzen 4000 CPUs now in Malaysia – starts from RM3,499

ASUS’ collaboration with AMD also spills over to the TUF Gaming laptop series which features the latest AMD Ryzen 4000 series CPUs. The two models available are the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 and TUF Gaming A17 SKUs.

New look

Both laptops are given a refresh on its aesthetics with a new TUF Gaming logo and frosted gray finish on the cover. It’s also got honeycomb vents at the bottom which not only look cool but improves airflow as well. There’s a pop-up screw that you can remove which makes the back panel pop up, making it easier to remove – meaning no need for prying it open with a credit card.

The specs

Moving on to what really matters – the internals; there are a total of six SKUs, and at the very minimum, you get an AMD Ryzen 5 4600H, paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, and 8GB RAM. The top-speced model comes with a Ryzen 9 4900H CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, and 16GB 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM. You also get 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 for storage as minimum.

The display

Every SKU gets a 144Hz FHD display panel with adaptive sync for screen tearing reduction. They all also come with an all zone RGB backlit keyboard, some of which are customizable with Aura Sync.

I/O ports and price

When it comes to I/O ports, the TUF Gaming A15 and TUF Gaming A17 comes with 2x Type A USB 3.2 ports, 1x Type A USB 2.0 port, 1x Type-C DP1.4 port, 1x ethernet port, 1x HDMI port, and an audio jack.
