ASUS showcases the ROG Zephyrus-M and TUF Gaming FX504 gaming laptops

It didn’t take long for ASUS to reveal it’s new gaming laptops to the media, shortly after announcing it two weeks ago in conjunction with Intel’s new Coffee Lake platform, the company has showed off the lightweight and powerful ROG Zephyrus-M, and the tough and reliable TUF FX504 gaming laptops. Both the ROG Zephyrus-M and TUF Gaming FX504 are launching this month, which the latter is already available for purchase at major PC retailers nationwide.

Built on the success of the ROG Zephyrus, the ROG Zephyrus-M is targeted at users who requires serious gaming performance in a lightweight package, the gaming laptop is powered by a Intel Core i7-8750H processor and a GeForce GTX 1070 graphics, it has a 15.6-inch IPS-level display that offers a 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. ASUS has also increased the height of the laptop when opened to reveal the underside vent, combined with two powerful 12V fans, it enables better air flow and a 20% reduction in system temperature, thus eliminating system throttling.

The ASUS TUF Gaming FX504 laptop mainly offers users who wants the balance between affordability and reliability without compromising performance. Sure enough, it doesn’t look as flashy as the ROG gaming laptops, but they still come with some serious performance hardware, you can choose to go with either an 8th Gen Core i5 or i7 processor and up to GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics with a 120Hz display panel, a 1TB FireCuda SSHD comes as standard on all variants and users will get a 128GB PCIe SSD on the maxed out model.

The FX504 doesn’t let you go out of style either as it comes with four color options, which the Fusion color model gives it a strikingly stunning red color accent on the X design at the chassis. Emphasizing on durability and reliability, the FX504 features an anti-dust cooling system to keep dust from building up overtime, the keyboard also has been tested with a lifespan of 20 million keypresses, which is double of the current industry standard.

ASUS has also announced that all of their existing gaming laptop line ups will be upgraded to Intel Coffee Lake processors, while teasing the Core i9 powered flagship ROG G703 to be available starting in May. The ROG Zephyrus-M will retail at RM9,299, which rivals MSI’s GS65 Stealth Thin with a faster performance for the same price tag, while The TUF Gaming FX504 starts from RM3,299 to RM4,399, which is pretty attractive for what it brings to the table.
