ASUS ROG Phone 5 confirmed to launch on March 10

The next gaming phone from ASUS is launching sooner than usual — the ASUS ROG Phone 5 will succeed the ROG Phone 3 and is expected to come with a Snapdragon 888 chip.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 – big display, huge battery, large storage

Based on a TENAA certification discovered by MySmartPrice, the ROG Phone 5 is also said to come with a bigger 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate while its 6,000mAh battery will support 65W fast charging. Its storage configuration should go up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and we’re probably still getting a dual front-facing speaker and no notches at all.

Innovative design with dot-matrix display

Another exciting aspect to look forward to when it comes to the new ROG phone is the design — rumours suggest it will have a dot-matrix display at the back which can display notification and also works with certain games. However, this feels more like a gimmick since users will be focusing on the screen instead of the back of the phone most of their time.

Other reports suggest that there may be a lite model of the ROG Phone 5 called the ROG Phone 5 Strix but take that with a pinch of salt.
