ASUS ROG Ally X goes official in Malaysia for RM4,299

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Malaysia has officially announced the pricing and pre-order promotion for the ROG Ally X, the latest model of its acclaimed ROG Ally handheld game console.

The ROG Ally X boasts the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor as before but features significant upgrades in storage, RAM, battery life, and ergonomics.

The ROG Ally X is engineered to deliver an enhanced gaming experience, integrating more storage, faster RAM, and a longer-lasting battery. The console now includes a 1 TB SSD, doubling the storage capacity from the original ROG Ally’s 512 GB, and features a redesigned motherboard with an M.2 2280 form factor slot for easier storage upgrades.

Additionally, the ROG Ally X is equipped with 24 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, allowing more flexibility in memory allocation between the system and GPU, which is essential for modern AAA titles that demand high-resolution textures. The new 80 Wh battery offers twice the capacity of its predecessor, ensuring longer gaming sessions away from power outlets. Despite the larger battery, the device only weighs 70 grams more, with an ergonomic design that optimizes weight distribution for comfortable and portable use.

The updated design includes a new black colorway with deeper handles and a more rounded shape for improved comfort. Button and stick placements have been adjusted for better ergonomics, and the macro buttons on the back are smaller to prevent accidental presses. The joysticks feature new, more durable modules with stiffer springs, and the D-Pad now provides more precise eight-direction input, ideal for fighting and retro games.

Connectivity has been enhanced with the inclusion of two USB-C ports, one of which is Thunderbolt-compatible, replacing the original XG Mobile port. This change allows for broader compatibility with third-party docks and external GPUs.

Thermal performance has also been improved with new, smaller fans featuring thinner blades, increasing airflow by 24%. The new thermal design includes an additional exhaust vent and better airflow management, keeping the device and touchscreen cooler during extended use.

The ROG Ally X will be available in Malaysia at an official price of RM 4,299. A pre-order promotion from 17th July to 31st July 2024 includes a bundle worth RM 658, featuring a ROG ALLY Premium Hard Case, ROG Gaming Charger Dock, and Screen Protector, while stocks last.

Pre-orders can be made online exclusively here.
