ASUS has confirmed the prevention of Ransomware via their AiProtection-Enabled Routers

With the on going attack on the world by the ransomware called WannaCry, ASUS has just released a notice to all AiProtection-enable routers that these devices will be able to protect users from the attack by utilizing the inbuilt intrusion prevention system powered by Trend Micro Smart Home Network by protecting vulnerabilities on your network such as open ports.

The system will check every single packet of data coming through the router from the Internet, AiProtection can detect and block any attempts to infiltrate your network and protect all connected devices. According to Trend Micro, last week alone the protection feature has already blocked over a million ransomware attacks, so don’t forget to enable the protection feature on your ASUS routers now.
