Apple’s new iPad Pro faces “bendgate” issue as it bends easily

Now Apple faces another issue reported by users, and they’re calling it “bendgate”. Previously when Apple’s iPhone Xs series faced charging issues, many called it “chargegate”, and when they faced the beautification issue in the camera, they started referring to it as “beautygate”. So now they have “bendgate”, which is an issue found in Apple’s new product, the iPad Pro.

Now the “bendgate” is a pretty straightforward term that simply means the iPad Pro can be bent very easily. This is not a first time for Apple, because the iPhone 6 a few years back faced the same “bendgate” issue. What makes it such a big deal is that the iPad Pro can be easily bent compared to its older versions and other tablets. The structure of the device is so unsatisfactory to the point that Apple users have been reporting that they’ve gotten bent iPad Pros straight from the box, which is a huge evidence pointed towards the durability of the devices.

If you’re planning on getting an iPad Pro, be sure that you also get Apple Care because one user reported that he bought it without Apple Care and can’t exchange it even though he got the iPad Pro that is bent right out of the box. Another user who did purchase the Apple Care exchanged his first bent iPad Pro for the second one and realised it’s bent just over a few days of usage.

While the new iPad Pro has been equipped with better upgrades, the durability of the device is surely a major factor that will discourage consumers from purchasing it. Meanwhile, Apple might be alerted and come out with a stronger iPad Pro next time, just like the iPhone 6s after the iPhone 6’s “bendgate” problem. In the meantime, those with Apple’s newest iPad Pro might consider getting a hard casing for their devices to ensure that it doesn’t get bent so easily.
