Apple’s virtual WWDC starts on June 22

Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference is coming soon but this time, it’ll be hosted virtually due to the current pandemic.

Beginning June 20, WWDC will be accessible in the Apple Developer app and website — free for all developers. “We can’t wait to meet online in June with the global developer community and share with them all of the new tools we’ve been working on to help them create even more incredible apps and services,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing.

Apple is also starting the Swift Student Challenge which will allow student developers to create and showcase their own Swift Playgrounds — an interactive app to learn Swift programming language. Students can start submitting their work on May 5 and the last day of submission is on May 17.

One thing we can all expect is the learn more about the upcoming iOS 14. Rumours have suggested that iOS will be getting a new fitness app, watchOS 7 will come with sleep tracking and there will be better mouse cursor support for iPadOS.
