Apple updates iMac with M4 chip

Apple has officially introduced its new iMac, now powered by the advanced M4 chip, promising significant performance upgrades in an ultra-thin design and arriving in a range of striking colors. The latest iMac claims faster processing speeds for productivity tasks and creative workflows, making it ideal for professionals and home users alike. In addition to the upgraded chip, Apple has enhanced the 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, which now offers a nano-texture glass option to reduce glare, adding versatility for brighter environments.

The M4 chip includes a powerful CPU and GPU that enhance multitasking and deliver an even smoother gaming experience. Content creators can expect up to 2.1x faster performance in applications like Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, while the Neural Engine’s threefold increase in speed further strengthens its capacity for AI tasks.

The iMac offers a rich connectivity experience, featuring Thunderbolt 4 across four USB-C ports, supporting fast data transfers and connections to up to two 6K displays. Enhanced Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity are also standard, allowing for seamless device interactions. New security measures include Touch ID for user authentication and easy access to Fast User Switching for multiple profiles.

The new iMac lineup comes in seven bold colors: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver, with coordinated accessories like the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and optional Magic Trackpad, all with USB-C connectivity for simplified charging.

The new 12MP Centre Stage camera adds functionality through Desk View, allowing users to simultaneously show themselves and a view of their desktop, ideal for presentations and creative demonstrations. Additionally, the nano-texture glass display option minimizes glare, enhancing screen usability in well-lit environments, such as living rooms or storefronts.
