Apple ‘Peek Performance’ Rumor Roundup – iPhone SE 3 and new Apple Silicon Macs!

In less than 12 hours, Apple is about to broadcast its ‘Peek Performance’ event where we will be introduced to a slew of exciting announcements, and here’s what we know so far.

iPhone SE 3 (or iPhone SE+) with A15 Bionic and 5G

Apple is set to announce the third generation iPhone SE that will sport the same design as its predecessor, which will come with a faster A15 Bionic and supports 5G, pricing is expected to remain the same at $399 with storage options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. In addition, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that the existing iPhone SE will still be on sale with its price reduced to $199, which could make it the most affordable iPhone ever, but knowing Apple, we might just take with a pinch of salt.

iPad Air 5 with M1 chip

The iPad Air got a facelift last year, so it is unlikely that Apple will make any design changes to its successor, but one thing that’s going to excite many is the inclusion of the M1 chip that powers the current generation iPad Pro and Macbooks, there are also speculations that the iPad Air could also receive quad speakers, 5G support, Center Stage for video calls with improved cameras, the 10.8-inch display is expected to remain at 60Hz but there have been previous rumors that Apple might include an OLED panel this round.

iPhone 13 Dark Green

Apple has usually used its Spring event to announce a new color option for iPhones, just like it did last year with a new Purple color option for the iPhone 12. This time, YouTuber Luke Miani has confirmed that Apple could release a new dark green color for the iPhone 13.

Apple M2 Chip

The current M1 Macs are due for an upgrade, and we can expect Apple to announce the more powerful M2 chip that’s made for the entry-level MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, though a redesign still isn’t expected on these laptops as we have been anticipating a 24-inch iMac like design on the MacBook Air, it will nonetheless be interesting to see how much improvements Apple has done to the M2 Chip over the M1.

Mac Mini Studio

Apple has lacked a powerful desktop based on Apple Silicon, and the rumored Mac Mini Studio could be the answer and starter to the next gen Mac Pro, this new desktop machine is expected to be much smaller than the current Mac Mini and sport the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, but on the other hand, we might just see the current Mac Mini being refreshed with the new M2 chip, hopefully with updated ports selection.
