Apple may be updating the MacBook Pro with an OLED screen above the keyboard

The design of the MacBook Pro hasn’t changed all that much for quite a while now. That said, rumours are going around that Apple is preparing some major overhauls to the 2016 MacBook Pros that would give some brand spanking new features.

Chief among the new additions to the upcoming MacBook Pro is the presence of an OLED display touch bar which is expected to replace the physical function keys along the top of the keyboard. Apart from the display, the new MacBook Pro will sport a new metal injection molded hinges that would make the laptops light than its predecessors. USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 will also be support on the new MacBook Pros. All these changes will be implemented on both the 13″ and 15″ versions of the laptop.

Besides overhauling the MacBook Pro, there are also rumours that Apple will be introducing a new 13″ MacBook that is similar to the current 12″ Retina model, albeit with a performance boost.

While nothing official has been revealed just yet, both the new MacBook Pros and the 13″ MacBook won’t be available until the fourth quarter of 2016, so we are still a long ways away from Apple’s newest laptops.
