Apple may be releasing a refreshed MacBook Pro with better specifications later this year

The new MacBook Pro reveals have not gone as smoothly as Apple would have liked judging from the amount of criticism many users have thrown at Apple’s latest laptop refresh. One of those criticisms stems from the fact that the MacBook Pro itself can be rather underpowered thanks to its relatively dated specifications. However, if rumours are correct, the performance part of the MacBook Pro will be remedied this year as Apple is planning a performance update for this year’s MacBook Pro update.

According to a report by AppleInsider, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned that Apple’s 2017 laptop line will see them adopt Intel’s Kaby Lake processors. Kuo believes that the upcoming 15″ MacBook Pro will come equipped with a Kaby Lake processor, as well as the ability to house 32GB of desktop-class RAM in it. Besides the 15″ model, Apple is also expected to refresh the 13″ MacBook Pro, giving it a Kaby Lake processor as well.

Kuo also believes that the 12″ MacBook will be getting a component refresh as well although no specifics are given as of yet. That being said, he believes that the 2017 MacBook will get a 16GB RAM option.
