Apple’s ‘Unleashed’ event has kicked off with the 3rd generation AirPods, which has been long due for an upgrade and as the rumor suggests, it looks like the AirPods Pro without the rubber tips, though Apple has demonstrated in its ad that they will finally stay on your ears no matter how much you shake and dance.
Apart from the design improvements, the new AirPods features a new custom driver and a high dynamic range amplifier that offers powerful bass with crips and high frequencies, battery life has been improved with an additional hour to 6 hours on a single charge, while a 5-minute charge will get you an hour of listening time and it supports charging with the MagSafe charging puck.
Although you are missing out Active Noise Cancellation, the new AirPods still offers Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos on Apple Music, it continues to be sweat and water resistant, and Apple claims improved audio quality for FaceTime calls with a new AAC-ELD speech codec that offers full HD voice quality.
The 3rd generation AirPods will retail at RM829 in Malaysia, Apple will continue to sell the 2nd generation AirPods and introduce AirPods Pro with MagSafe Charging Case at the price of RM589 and RM1099 respectively.
