Apple files a wireless charging patent that can prioritize device charging

It appears that Apple has filed two new patents that are related to wireless charging. The first is an option to charge multiple devices at once with the option to prioritise which device gets charged first and under what circumstances and the other is the possibility of placing wireless charging devices into structures like furniture and vehicles.

As most of you know, the new iPhones support wireless charging and Apple themselves has shown off the AirPower charger that allows multiple devices to be charged no one charger. With the first patent, it will allow users to dictate to the charger which device should it charge first, effectively saving power and charging a particular device faster than the others. Apple has opted to use Qi standards for its wireless charging which could mean that these patents could potentially work for other devices as well.

As with most patent registrations, we should not expect to see this device anytime soon as most companies file patents as a future-proof safeguard. Apple has not commented on this patents so we are still not sure if these devices will even see the light of day.
