Apple expected to refresh iPads at upcoming March event

Looking to get a new iPad sometime in the near future? Well, you might want to put those plans on hold for now as Japanese Apple-centric website Mac Otakara is reporting that Apple will be refreshing its iPad Pro lineup at an event scheduled for March.

According to Mac Otakara, the new iPad Pros will come in 7.9″, 9.7″, 10.5″ and 12.9″ models. With the introduction of a 7.9″ iPad Pro, it appears that Apple will be looking to replace the iPad mini 4 with this particular model. On top of that, the 7.9″ model is expected to sport a Smart Connector port, True Tone display, four speakers, and a 12MP rear iSight camera with True Tone flash.

For the new 10.5″ iPad Pro, the website is reporting that the iPad as a whole will have a similar footprint to the 9.7″ model thanks to its edge-to-edge design. As for performance, the 7.9″ and 9.7″ models will be powered by the A9X chip, while the 10.5″ and 12.9″ models will be powered by the A10X chip.

iPads aren’t the only devices that will be present at Apple’s March event as Mac Otakara is also reporting that Apple would take the opportunity to introduce a new iPhone SE that has 128GB of internal storage. Apple will also announce a new red colour option for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at the event as well. As always, these are all rumours at the moment, and you should really take then with a grain of salt.
