Apple has announced the best paid and free apps of 2017

Every year, Apple announces the best apps in the App Store to which they celebrate the most used and downloaded apps on the iPhone and this year is no different. The company has also broken down the ratings to SEA to show what we and our Asian brethren are spending their precious data quota on.

When it comes to apps, the biggest change in the chart comes from AR apps, mainly due to Apple’s move to invest more time and research in the field and it has proven to be fruitful. Apps like My Very Hungry Caterpillar AR which brings the classic children’s book character to life right in front of your eyes and AR Dragon are among the apps that peaked in the AR category.

Other than that, they have also seen multiplayer games from last year like Clash Royal and Hearthstone still sitting on the top of the charts alongside new games like Art of War: Red Tides, Stormbound, and Guns of Boom.

Mental health is as important as physical health and users know this as Apple has seen growth in this category. Relaxation apps like Bloom and Lake as well as meditations apps like Zen Studio contribute to the list of top mental health apps.

Aside from that, Apple has also compiled a lost of App Store Editors pick which is broken down into app of the year and game of the year for both the iPad and iPhone:
