Apple refreshes 13-inch MacBook Pro with Magic Keyboard and better internals

Apple first introduced the new Magic Keyboard on the 16-inch MacBook Pro and the recently launched MacBook Air. Now, it’s also coming to the 13-inch MacBook Pro alongside several upgrades.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro finally joined the other two MacBooks by getting the new Magic Keyboard which comes with a scissor mechanism with 1mm of key travel. You’ll also get a physical Escape key, Touch Bar and Touch ID as seen in newer MacBooks.

Apart from the new keyboard, the updated MacBook Pro will also have twice the storage compared to its predecessor — starting from 256GB and maxing out at 1TB. If 1TB isn’t enough, you can also get up to 4TB SSD storage with the MacBook Pro. In addition to that, Apple also added a 32GB RAM option for its MacBook Pro and is now using 3733MHz memory as a standard configuration on some models for faster performance.

Speaking of performance, the MacBook Pro will also be offered with up to 10th-generation quad-core Intel Core processors and Intel Iris Plus Graphics, — this means faster and better performance even when it comes to heavy tasks like video editing, 3D rendering and so on.

With the new MacBook Pro, you’ll also be getting a 13-inch Retina display with True Tone technology, wide-stereo sound for an immersive audio experience and the Apple T2 Security Chip for data encryption.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro’s normal pricing starts at RM5,599, but if you’re in the education sector i.e you’re a student, homeschool teacher or anything of the sort, you can get the MacBook Pro from RM5,169. Its availability hasn’t been announced but it should be soon, so keep an eye out on Apple’s official site every now and then.
