Android Wear 2.0 has come a long way now, after being initially scheduled for a release last year. Google has sinced postponed the release of the wearable software till this year. Recently, Android Wear 2.0 was rumored for a February launch, and it looks like this claim by a credible source further confirms earlier statement, with an additional exact date of the launch.
Popular tipster Evan Blass has tweeted that Android Wear 2.0 will see the light of day on the 9th of February, which is only a little over 3 weeks away. Known for his spot on predictions and claims, we’re trusting Blass on this one as well. The claim by Blass falls in line with Google’s plans to launch two flagship smartwatches some time in Q1 this year. It is also about time where manufacturers such as Huawei and Motorola come out new smart wearables to grace the coming of Android Wear 2.0. The new software will likely include the highly anticipated Play Store on Android Wear, which enables installation of standalone apps on the smartwatches themselves.
Google is expected to have a final developer preview of Android Wear 2.0 to be released later this month, which will be the 5th. If the claim by Blass is true, then the Developer Preview 4 for Android Wear 2.0 will probably be a wrap up preview with last minute major bug fixes and improvements before Android Wear 2.0 gets a public release. Are you excited for Android Wear 2.0?
