Android users will soon get an in-app browser in WhatsApp

WhatsApp is about to take it up a notch by introducing an in-app browser, but this will first appear in its beta version.

To be clear, the new feature is found in the 2.19.74 beta update, in which the in-app browser will appear when WhatsApp users try to open a link. There will also be a Safe Browsing feature that will inform users when they enter any sites that have malicious content.

WABetaInfo wrote, “In the current stage of development, WhatsApp doesn’t allow to natively make screenshots or video captures while using the in-app browser: reasons are unknown and I don’t know if this will change before the release of the feature.”

That aside, WABetaInfo also said that the new update will require Android 4.1 or newer, so it means that WhatsApp will definitely be introducing this feature to Android users. With that being said, iOS users should not worry too, as the company usually ensures that both iOS and Android users get all the features the app has to offer.
