Android Oreo coming to selected Samsung phones early 2018

Sony has already pushed the Android 8.0 update to its Xperia XZ Premium phones, but many other brands have yet to push the update, making its users wait anxiously for the update. Many companies have stated that the update for their devices will come by the end of the year and some have are still silent about it.

One of the most anticipated manufacturers, Samsung, has announced that the Oreo update will be coming to the supported phones early 2018. This comes from Samsung Turkey news portal which specifically stated that the pilot model for Android Oreo has begun. There is no other information given or what phones that will be getting the update but we should expect that the S8 phones and the Note 8 will be one of the phones to get the update. As for the mid to budget phones, there is still no indication that they will get the Oreo treatment but we should expect that the S7 will be getting it.

Some of the things they did mention are that with the update, we should expect that the phone will be able to open applications faster. Other than that, these phones will be getting new emojis, notification channels and predictive text selection. There is also a listing for night mode to help reading at night, but Samsung has already included a blue light filter which does the same thing. We should be getting some clarifications in the near future.
