Android Nougat on the rollout to Galaxy S6 devices

Users of the Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge have been waiting for ages for the arrival of Android Nougat to their handsets as they were promised. The 2015 flagship series by Samsung have been included in the list of devices getting Nougat treatment. Rumor had it that it will rollout by the end of February 2017, but the company reportedly delayed the update to recheck the quality of its software. As we approach the last third of Q1 2017, we finally have reports of Galaxy S6/S6 Edge users getting the software update.

Numerous readers of Sam Mobile have tipped off the news outlet, claiming that the Nougat update for the Galaxy S6 series are now on the rollout. One reader in particular claimed that the update was issued by UK major carrier Vodafone. Users in regions such as Germany, Italy and Switzerland have reportedly received the software update as well. However, there seems to be no news of a Nougat rollout outside Europe.

The Android Nougat rollout for the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge has been limited to the EU region at the time of writing. If you happen to be a Galaxy S6/S6 Edge user, give us a buzz if you’ve received your share of Android Nougat on your two year old flagship!
