A new android bug was discovered by Google recently that allows hackers to attack devices via a bogus PNG file.
In an update posted on the Android Security Bulletin, Google discloses information on a vulnerability within the OS’s framework that allows remote hacking using “specially crafted” PNG files.
According to PC Gamer, this hack allows attackers to install malware onto devices. Details on the issue is scares but Google has classified this flaw as ‘critical’ in threat severity.
PC Gamer has also said that even though this issue has been patched by Google, it will take a long time for third party makers to roll out the security patches to their own brand of devices.
