An upcoming mid-range Vivo phone could come with a 120Hz display

Vivo hasn’t brought any high refresh rate displays to its Y series phones, but that might change soon as the smartphone brand is about to introduce a 120Hz display on an upcoming Vivo Y7x smartphone.

First reported by PassionateGeekz, the Y7x is expected to come with a 6.44-inch 120Hz display and will be powered by a capable Mediatek Helio G96 chipset supported by up to 8GB of RAM, it will also reportedly come preloaded by Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 11.

Recently, Vivo has been shifting its focus to gaming for its Y series smartphones starting with the Vivo Y76 5G, the Y7x seem to further confirm that continued effort to bring gaming centric features to the brand’s more affordable models, although sadly the phone will not be a 5G enabled smartphone, and we have no clue whether it will debut as another model name if it ever launches in Malaysia.

The Vivo Y7x is seen as a direct rival to Xiaomi’s popular Redmi Note 11, which has gathered positive reviews from early reviewers and is slated to launch on February 11 in Malaysia, this is definitely an interesting year for mid-range phones.
