AMD's Ryzen 5 series of processors will launch on the 11th of April

With AMD’s Ryzen 7 processors now available in the market, AMD is now shifting its attention to Ryzen 5. Today, AMD has confirmed that the mid-range Ryzen 5 processor will be arriving on the 11th of April.

For the Ryzen 5 processors, AMD has prepared four different variants on the processors: the 1600X, the 1600, the 1500X and the 1400. In the case of the 1600X and the 1600, these processors will be six-core, 12-thread Zen-based processors. The 1600X will have a base speed of 3.6GHz and boost speed of 4.0GHz, while the 1600 will have a base speed of 3.2GHz and a boost speed of 3.6GHz.

Meanwhile, the 1500X and the 1400 are four-core, six-thread Zen-based processors. The 1500X will have a base speed of 3.5GHz with a boost speed of 3.7GHz, while the 1400 will have a base speed of 3.2GHz and a boost speed of 3.4GHz. All the CPUs in the Ryzen 5 line will have unlocked multipliers, allowing you to manually overclock the processors assuming you have the appropriate AM4 motherboards for it.

As for the local pricing of the chips, the 1600X will have a pricetag of RM1,199, the 1600 will retail for RM1,039, the 1500X will cost RM899, while the 1400 will go for RM819.
