AMD introduces Ryzen mobile processors, Acer and Lenovo first to show devices equipped with the APUs

AMD has launched AMD Ryzen mobile processors here in Malaysia which brought along the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U and the AMD Ryzen 7 2700U which comes with Vega graphics as a System-On-Chip which pushes the boundary of what integrated graphics chip can offer to the budget conscious consumer.

Acer and Lenovo also joined in the event to unveil their first entries to using the new Ryzen APU with the Acer Swift 3 and the Lenovo Ideapad 720S, both powered by the Ryzen 5 2500U processors. The new processors are a big step up from the previous AMD mobile processors, with 3X the CPU performance, up to 2.3x GPU performance and up to 58% less power consumption. In real-world use, AMD has claimed that the APU will be able to deliver smooth and playable framerates at 1080p in popular eSports titles like League of Legends, Overwatch, CS:GO and DOTA 2 all in an ultrathin design. Below are the specs of the two Ryzen mobile laptops from Acer and Lenovo:

There will be more laptops that will carry the Ryzen mobile processors in the coming months and AMD has also teased an April 2018 release date for the Ryzen Zen+ processors which is a step up from the current Ryzen desktop processors. The new Ryzen mobile processor equipped devices can be found on AMD’s official online store on Lazada, 11street and Shopee.
