With virtual reality technology finally made available to the general public, many tech companies are looking to embrace VR as part of the company’s strategy. Once such company is Amazon, and what they may do with VR tech could be rather interesting.
Quite recently, Amazon has listed a job posting on LinkedIn that shows that the company is looking for a creative director for virtual reality. The creative director will work under the company’s A9 division and will be responsible for “building Amazon’s VR shopping experience for use by millions of customers on a wide variety of VR devices.”
While details of the creative director job is rather vague, the most interesting part of the description will have to be the mention of Amazon’s “VR shopping experience”. Assuming that this is Amazon’s endgame, it appears that the company may be looking to expand its online marketplace into the VR space. That on its on may paint a very interesting picture of Amazon’s future.
