Alienware introduces m15, their thinnest and lightest gaming laptop

Alienware’s laptops have always been thicker in size but that’s about to change with their latest addition. The new Alienware m15 is currently their thinnest and lightest laptop, measuring around 0.8 inches thick and weighing about 4.8 pounds.

The m15 comes with magnesium alloy and copper chassis. It has a 15.6 inch display, though you can choose to have a 1080p 60Hz display, 1080p 144Hz display or 4K 60Hz panel display. It has a full-sized RGB backlit keyboard which includes the numeric keypad that is usually only available for Alienware’s 17 inch laptops. The keyboard has six different zones for the color changes.

Furthermore, m15 starts with 8GB RAM and can be upgraded up to 32GB RAM. It supports single-storage or dual-storage configurations and can go up to 2TB storage and users can either choose the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or GTX 1070. In terms of processor, m15 comes with either i5-8300H quad-core processor or i7-8750H hexa-core processor.

Moving on to the ports section, on the sides, m15 has 3 USB 3.0 ports, a headset jack and the Gigabit Ethernet port. On m15’s back, there is the USB Type-C port, Thunderbolt 3, mini DisplayPort and HDMI port. The Alienware Graphics Amplifier port is also attached at the back of the m15 which is suitable for users who would like better graphics without upgrading the entire system.

Next, the m15 comes in the standard 60W battery, though for those who’d prefer longer battery life can opt for the 90W battery. It is said that on idle, the 90W battery can last up to 17 hours. Lastly, the m15 comes in the color Epic Silver or Nebula Red. Alienware m15 is rumoured to be at least $1100 and will be launched on October 25th.
