Affordable flagships introduced in the form of the Realme 3

We’ve been seeing a flurry of mid-ranged devices introduced in the past month – think the Samsung Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50, Redmi Note 7, OPPO F11 Pro and more. Today, Realme announces themselves for the year of 2019 with the introduction of their new affordable flagship, the Realme 3.

Although typically priced at low-end prices, Realme always impresses with mid-tier specs and design; and the Realme 3 is no different. The phone boasts a unibody design with gradient aesthetics along with a 6.2-inch dewdrop-notch IPS LCD display.

At the back, the dual-camera setup (13MP main + 2MP depth sensor) is a slight upgrade from the Realme 2. The front camera in the Realme 3 is a respectable 13MP sensor.

Under the hood, the Realme 3 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset along with 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM or 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM memory and storage configurations. You can also expect a 4230mAH battery in the Realme 3 which is a welcome surprise considering the phone’s price.

There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a headphone jack. But what comes as a bit of an odd decision is the use of a micro-USB port.

The Realme 3 ships with Android Pie and Color OS 6. The phone comes in three colors – Dynamic Black, Radiant Blue and Classic Black. The 3GB + 32GB ROM variant is priced at a very affordable RM599, while the 4GB + 64GB ROM variant is priced at RM699. You can get the phone from April 6 onwards, but on March 27, you get the 3GB version of the phone at a discounted price of RM549 on Lazada.
