Affordable BLU Vivo 6 launched in the UK

Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales have given most of us a reason to empty our wallets and bank accounts. While the buying frenzy goes on, BLU has launched a new handset headed for the UK. With “bold like us” as the company’s tagline, BLU is bold enough to have the Vivo 6 announced right between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

The BLU Vivo 6 is a mid range device that replaces its predecessor the Vivo 5 which was launched back in January this year. BLU has a rather odd product refresh cycle for this particular Vivo series. The Vivo 5 came after more than a year since the Vivo 4 (Vivo IV), which was announced way back in May 2014, while the Vivo 5 got replaced within a year by the current Vivo 6.

The Vivo 6 sports a Full HD 1080p display at 5.5-inches with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Internally the handset features a MediaTek Helio P10 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, further expandable for an extra 64GB via micro SD. In terms of camera, the Vivo 6 has a PDAF rear camera of 13 megapixels and a selfie camera on the front of 8 megapixels, both with the same f/2.0 aperture.

The Vivo 6 packs a 3,130mAh battery which sounds sufficient enough for the handset’s power consumption. BLU claims a full day of several usage or 20 days on standby from a full charge, and the Vivo 6 comes with a 5V/2A rapid charging technology. Apart from that, the phone features a fingerprint sensor on the front, flanked by capacitive buttons. Last but not least, the Vivo 6 runs Android Marshmallow out of the box.

The BLU Vivo 6 is available for pre-orders now before it releases on the 2nd of December as a UK exclusive for the time being. Available in both Gold and Rose Gold, the Vivo 6 carries a price tag of £184.99 (RM1024.34).
