Acer updates Swift 5 and Swift 3 laptops with 12th Gen Intel processors

Acer has updated its popular lightweight Swift 5 and Swift 3 laptops with the latest 12th Gen Intel Core processors, which will bring new levels of efficiency and performance on these already great looking laptops.

The Swift 5 is a premium laptop that comes with a CNC-machined unibody chassis that weighs 1.2kg, it will come equip with 16GB of dual-channel LPDDR5 memory and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. This is an Intel Evo certified laptop that Acer claims to offer 10 hours of real-world battery life, other features include WiFi 6E, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a full sized HDMI 2.1 port and two full-sized USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Swift 5 will have a 16:10 aspect ratio 14-inch display with a 2560×1600 resolution, while having an impressive 92.22% screen-to-body ratio, it is coated with an antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass for better protection against scratches, while the webcam has also been upgraded to Full HD resolution with Acer’s Temporal Noise Reduction technology.

As for the new Swift 3, you get three new color-washed designs and two screen options of either QHD or FHD resolution, it also gets a Full HD webcam with Acer’s Temporal Noise Reduction technology, WiFi 6E connectivity and has better cooling with Acer’s TwinAir dual-fan cooling system, which offers 65.8% improvement over the thermal performance of a single fan.

Both the Acer Swift 5 and Swift 3 will ship in North America from June 2022 onwards with a starting price of US$1,499 and US$849.99 respectively, local availability will be announced at a later date.
