Acer expands eco-friendly Vero product lineup

Acer is taking a different approach from the rest of PC makers in sustainability, as the company has gone all in to reveal a series of eco-friendly manufactured products this year, from laptops to projectors, the Vero lineup has gotten a lot more fun and interesting.

New Aspire Vero Laptops

Updated with 12th Gen Intel Core processors, the Aspire Vero continues to come in 14-inch and 15-inch screen sizes with their chassis being made from post consumer recycled materials, while they continue to come in the signature Cobblestone Grey color, the 14-inch model has a new Mariana Blue color while the 15-inch gets a Starry Black color option, the latter’s webcam is also upgraded to 1080p resolution for clearer video calls.

The new Aspire Vero laptops are now Intel Evo certified, which means you can expect responsive performance and improved battery life compared to the previous model, ports selection is also enhanced with two full sized USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port that supports USB PD charging, which the latter isn’t available on the previous Vero laptop.

Both 14-inch and 15-inch Aspire Vero laptops feature OceanGlass Trackpads that’s made from ocean-bound plastic, their chassis uses 30% post-consumer recycled plastic that saves 21% in carbon emissions, while the screen bezel and keycaps are made from 30% and 50% of post-consumer recycled plastic respectively. Like their predecessors, they are also made for easy repairs and upgrades with standard screws at the base.

The new Aspire Vero laptops will be available in the US starting September 2022, both 14-inch and 15-inch models will retail from US$749.99 (RM3,298).

Acer Veriton Vero All-in-One

The Veriton Vero All-in-One desktop computer features a 24-inch Full HD IPS display with a 88% screen-to-body ratio, made from 30% post-consumer recycled material, it also comes with a keyboard and mouse that’s also made of PCR material. On top of that, it has a built-in 5MP webcam with a privacy shutter to conceal confidential data.

Powered by up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i9 processor, discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX550 GPU and 64GB of dual-channel DDR4 3200MHz RAM, the Veriton Vero AIO comes with WiFi 6E, USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connectivity and two M.2 SSD slots that support up to 2TB of storage.

The Veriton Vero AIO will be available in the US starting October 2022, it will retail from US$799 (RM3,513)

Vero Monitors

Two new Vero IPS monitors are announced – the 27-inch FHD Acer CB273 and 23.8-inch FHD Acer B247YG, they are essentially outgoing monitors that Acer is already selling in the market though these new ones are made with 85% PCR plastic and 5% ocean bound plastic.

The Acer CB273’s 27-inch panel has a color accuracy of Delta E<1, while enhancing user’s productivity by offering a KVM switch that automatically switches input device to the source computer, and a USB-C port that charges laptops up to 90W of power output.

The Acer B247YG on the other hand is a feature packed mainstream monitor that has a 75Hz refresh rate, generous connectivity options such as VGA, HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2 and three USB 3.0 downstream ports, the monitor’s stand is also height adjustable for a suitable viewing experience.

The Vero CB273 will be available in Q3 with a US$349.99 (RM1539) price tag in the US, while the Vero B247Y G monitor will retail at US$199.99 (RM879).

Vero PD2325W Projector

Apart from being made out of 50% PCR plastic in the chassis and 85% recycled paper packaging, the Vero PD2325W projector features a bright 2200 lumens LED light source that provides up to 30,000 hour lifespan, resulting in 50% energy savings compared to traditional mercury-containing lamps projectors.

The Vero PD2325W Projector displays a 1280×800 resolution, supporting an extended 125% REC 709 wide color gamut and with integrated 5W speaker, it is suitable for 24/7 continuous use for public displays or museum exhibitions.

Available in Q3 2022, the Vero PD2325W projector has a starting price of US$559 (RM2,458).
