Acer brings OLED display to the mainstream Swift 3 laptop

As OLED panels get more affordable, Acer has finally updated its mainstream Swift 3 laptop with an OLED display while giving a spec bump to the latest 12th Gen Intel Core H-Series processors, along with 16GB LPDDR5 memory and PCIe Gen  4 SSDs that delivers a significant performance improvement over the previous generation.

The Swift 3 OLED sports a 14-inch 16:10 WQXGA+ OLED display with a 92% screen-to-body ratio, it is DisplayHDR 500 certified and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, weighing at just 1.4kg and measuring 17.9mm with a solid aluminum metal chassis, Acer has also incorporated part of its sustainability efforts by using an OceanGlass touchpad made from ocean-bound plastic waste.

Setting it apart from the other mainstream laptops is a FHD MIPI webcam that leverages Acer’s Temporal Noise Reduction technology, which users will be able to benefit from clearer video calls than typical 720p laptop webcams, cooling is also rather innovative by having an air inlet design on the keyboard that helps expels 8-10% more heat than a standard keyboard.

Acer Malaysia hasn’t shared any local availability and pricing for the Swift 3 OLED, it will however be made available in the US market starting July 2022 for US$899.99 (RM3,959), which competes directly with the ASUS ZenBook 14 OLED but considering the Swift 3 OLED comes with an Intel H-series processor, it will be interesting to see how Acer competitively sells this laptop here.
