Acer Aspire Vero launched in Malaysia: Eco-friendly laptop priced from RM3,399

As part of Acer’s Project Humanity initiative that raises awareness about sustainability, the company introduces the Aspire Vero laptop that’s made using recycled materials and offer plenty of upgradability.

We recently wrote about the device when it was first introduced; this time, it’s now available in Malaysia and is priced from RM3,399.

The device’s chassis is made of 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, while the laptop’s keycaps use 50% PCR plastics too. According to Acer, each Aspire Vero contributes to 21% less carbon emissions.

Like mentioned in our report, the Aspire Vero packs a 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel; and under the hood is an Intel Core i5-1155G7 or Core i7-1195G7 CPU. There’s Intel Iris X integrated graphics, and up to 16GB of RAM.

When it comes to ports, you get a HDMI 2.0 port, 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1, 1x Type-C Gen 1, and 1x 3.5mm headphone jack.

The device packs a 720p webcam and boasts a batter life of up to 7 hours on regular use.

A big selling point for the Aspire Vero is that it’s designed to be easily disassembled, repaired, and upgraded to prolong its lifespan. This means that you don’t have to buy new devices as often, thus reducing e-waste.

Driving change

To further bolster their drive for a more sustainable future, Acer also announced that they’ve adopted 15 trees in a 16-acre land in Taman Tugu. To top it off, five organisations – Kitamen, Microsoft, National cancer Society of Malaysia, PIKOM, and Team Lugiami, also pledged their support for Acer’s movement.

“Acer Malaysia is committed to sustainability. We want to do more as a responsible company and corporate citizen; this includes our response to climate change,” says Johnson Seet, Director of Consumer Business, Product and Marketing of Acer Malaysia.

If you’re interested in purchasing the Acer Aspire Vero, visit the brand’s estore, or Shopee page. Get the laptop anytime between 11 and 19 November, and you’ll snag yourself a bunch of gifts worth RM500.
