As we all know, Xperia has announced its latest Xperia X series, officially putting a nail into the coffin of the Xperia Z lineup, tracing back to the original Xperia Z that was released in early 2013. Recently, a benchmark result came up on Geekbench of a “Z6 Z6” smartphone, which sounds like a far fetch to consider it to be the resurrection of the Xperia Z lineup, but let’s take a look anyway.
At first glance, we’re almost sure that the tested device isn’t a Sony Xperia Z6, based on its Android 4.4.2 version. It would be absurd for an 2016 Xperia smartphone to run on Android Kit Kat to begin with. Moving on, we’re looking at a MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz, which singles the Z6 Z6 out of the flagship spectrum already. On the other hand, we’re looking at a generous amount of RAM at 4GB.
That’s about it, the Z6 Z6 sounds pretty much like a spoof so far. But it would be interesting to found out what handset it turns out to be. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts at the comments section below!
