6-year old Xiaomi teams up with Hasbro, releases a Transformer tablet

Is this another attempt at making a Michael Bay movie come true? Hasbro has been called on by Xiaomi to celebrate the Chinese OEM’s sixth birthday. The collaboration of the duo managed to produce what seems to be a revolutionary product – a Mi Pad that transforms into a cool looking robot figure. Imagine, how cool will it be to order your tablet, “Autobots, roll out!” and it instantly morphs into a robot right in front of your eyes.

The “robot in disguise” Mi Pad will be crowdfunded, and we’re guessing that it’s definitely not a real functioning Mi Pad since it only comes at a price of 169 Chinese Yuan (RM102.83). Unless Xiaomi and Hasbro possess such advanced technology to create a full fledged tablet that transforms, chances are that this Mi Pad only works as a transformer, explaining its ridiculously low price point, even for a non-functioning transformer.

Nevertheless, the cool factor still remains with this bad-ass product of collaboration. The transformer Mi Pad will be crowdfunded and will start shipping out on the 13th of next month. Sadly, this product is only available in China for the time being, and we probably won’t be looking at worldwide availability. What do you think about this special edition of the Mi Pad?
