Samsung introduces the Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition

Continuing its tradition of releasing a special edition of its flagship smartphone before the Olympic Games, Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. The first Olympic Edition Samsung flagship was released in 2012: Galaxy Note Olympic Edition. Last year, it released the Galaxy Note 8 PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games Limited Edition.

Samsung will be selling only 10,000 units of the Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition via NTT Docomo in Japan by the end of July. As for the price, the Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition will cost JPY 110,000 (RM4,173).

Samsung Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition is identical to the standard Galaxy S10+ in terms of hardware specifications. In terms of design, however, there are a few small differences. The special edition has a Tokyo Olympics logo on the back of the phone. Available only in Prism White color, the phone will be shipped in special retail packaging with the Galaxy Buds Olympic Edition earphones.

There is no word yet on whether the Olympic Games Edition of the Galaxy S10+ will be sold in markets outside Japan. While doubts remain over the smartphone’s availability outside Japan, Samsung is expected to launch various Olympic-branded apps and services ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games globally.
