2nd Generation AirPods Pro launches with improved active noise cancellation

Followed by the new Apple Watch, Apple has unveiled the second generation AirPods Pro and while the earbuds look almost identical to the previous model, it offers improved active noise cancellation and transparency mode, spatial audio has also gotten more immersive and finally, you can actually control playback volume by swiping the touch control on the stem.

A brand new charging case is introduced that offers up to 30 hours of battery life and supports MagSafe charging, while the earbuds itself offer up to 6 hours of listening time on a single charge, there is a speaker that plays sound when triggered by the Find My service and a lanyard loop for attaching a lanyard so you won’t lose it easily, it will also take advantage of the iPhone’s U1 ultrawide band chip so that you can locate the case just like an AirTag.

In terms of comfort, Apple has included an even smaller XS eartip for smaller ears on top of the usual S, M, L eartips.

The 2nd Generation AirPods Pro is powered by a new H2 chip, which not only helps improve its noise cancellation by being able to reduce loud environmental noise further, such as a passing vehicle, siren, construction tools and even loud speakers at a concert, a new low-distortion audio driver and custom amplifier also offers improved acoustics with richer bass and clarity.

However, the new AirPods Pro still doesn’t support lossless music streaming.

The 2nd Generation AirPods Pro will retain its predecessor’s retail price of RM1,099, it will be available starting 23 September onwards.
