We’ve been expecting the 2022 iPad Air to feature an OLED display, but that may not be the case anymore; Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that Apple has canceled its plan to upgrade the iPad Air’s display.
According to Kuo, Apple will focus on the 11-inch iPad Pro instead; the smaller iPad Pro is expected to come with a mini-LED display that is currently only available on the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
2022 iPad Air has no OLED display, but maybe it’ll come in 2023?
While we may not see the OLED iPad Air in 2022, it’s not as if Apple has completely abandoned the plan; an OLED iPad Air will still debut in the future, it’s just a matter of when.
The iPad mini 6 that was launched last month was also expected to sport a mini-LED display, but that turned out to be untrue too.
The current iPad Air may not have an OLED display, but it’s already similar to the iPad Pro in terms of design. It doesn’t have a Home button, comes with uniform bezels and flat edges.
It also works with the second generation Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard for iPad.
