The OPPO A55 has been launched in its native China and it brings yet another affordable 5G option to market.
The phone packs a standard 6.5-inch LCD HD+ panel that pushes a 60Hz refresh rate. This might not be a successor to the OPPO A53 as first assumed, as the latter comes with a 90Hz panel instead – perhaps the A55 is more of a replacement for the A15.
For imaging, the phone comes with a 13MP main lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP portrait camera. For selfies, you get an 8MP lens placed in a drop-notch housing.
Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone is powered with a 5,000mAh battery, and it supports 10W of charging.
The OPPO A55 is priced at CNY1,599 (about RM999). With 5G connectivity and solid specs all around, the OPPO A55 could be a top-seller for those looking for something that won’t break the bank. At the moment, there’s no word on when it’ll arrive in the country yet, but we’ll keep you posted when we get more information.
