The vivo X50 and X50 Pro are now official – bringing to the country the first smartphone with a gimbal camera system that offers greatly improved video stabilisation compared to other phones in the same class.
Both phones are similar in certain ways – for starters, they both sport a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display that pushes a 90Hz refresh rate; plus, with a HDR10+ certification, the screen outputs a wider gamut of colours, making media consumption a blast.
Under the hood, the duo packs a capable Snapdragon 765G chipset that’ll makes regular browsing and gaming a breeze. Accompanying the chip is 8G RAM.
For selfies, both devices get a 32MP selfie shooter that’s housed in a punch hole module on the top left portion of the screen.
What specs are different?
While we’re on the topic of cameras – the X50 Pro comes with a 48MP quad camera system, whereby the main lens is equipped with a gimbal module. The rest of the array consist of an 8MP super wide-angle shooter, an 8MP 5x telescopic lens, and a 13MP portrait camera.
The regular vivo X50 packs a 48MP quad camera too but with a 5MP macro lens in place of the 8MP telephoto lens, and the gimbal system is omitted too.
The vivo X50 comes with 128GB of internal storage, and the X50 Pro has 256GB of storage. The regular X50 also comes with a smaller 4,200mAh battery compared to the X50 Pro’s larger 4,315mAh pack – despite this, both phones support up to 33W of fast charging.
The vivo X50 comes in Glaze Black and Frost Blue, while the X50 Pro Alpha Grey. The former is priced at RM2,399 while the vivo X50 Pro is priced at RM3,199 – pre-orders start now until 24 July, and will get you the Protection Plus warranty package worth RM299, an air purifier worth RM300 and a purchase-with-purchase deal to get the new vivo TWS Neo at RM99 if you get the X50 Pro.
